One Minute Play Festival–rehearsal and meet & greet

Went to a rehearsal for the #1MPF on Saturday.  Saw 10 of the 70+ plays that are going up this weekend.

It was a lot of fun.  Mysterious, quirky, fast, occasionally poignant, lively and silly.  Can you ask for anything more?

You can.  You can ask for romance.  I didn’t see that.

Anyway, I thought the actors and director were doing great.  And I have a feeling that seeing so many short pieces in quick succession will have some greater zeitgeist-y effect.

We’ll see.  Going to a tech rehearsal tomorrow, I think.  Maybe will have a better sense then.

Talked to Dominic D’Andrea at the annual ScriptWorks Meet & Greet–he’s spearheading/consulting on a series of these festivals around the country (40 weeks of them in the year ahead, I think he said).  Interesting guy.  Interesting experiences.  We talked about the recent festival in Anchorage which involved guns, bears and native blood.

More feelings and opinions in the next few days.  See if you can hang on that long, loyal follower.
