elderspark

elderspark is an arts and culture project that enriches assisted living communities by bringing live, professional performances directly to their residents, families, and staff.

The inspiration for elderspark came during months of visiting my father at his assisted living facility. While the care he received was excellent—with gentle staff and home-cooked meals—I noticed a need for something more.

Many residents, including my father, craved deeper connection and creative stimulation. The standard activities didn’t always engage everyone, and I saw an opportunity to provide a more vibrant, interactive form of entertainment that could help bring the entire community together.

Drawing on my experience producing theater and variety shows, I envisioned a new kind of troupe. Tapping into a roster of professional musicians, comedians, and actors, we could bring high-quality performances directly to senior living facilities. More than that, we could create shows that were truly personal by incorporating the residents’ own stories and details into the acts.

From this idea, elderspark was born. Our mission is to enrich the lives of older adults by sparking joy, laughter, and a profound sense of community through the shared experience of live performance.
