September Storytelling

A couple of opportunities came out of the blue over the next few weeks:

1) Backyard Storytelling: I’ve heard about this place for years but never been. I got an invite to do it this next Sunday, September 15th. Telling a new version of a story I told at Testify last year (pictured). Seems pretty informal; excited to check it out.

2) High School Storytelling Clinic: This is the thing I’m more nervous about than anything. I’ve been asked to come and teach a class to high school students in South Austin at the end of the month. I have no curriculum, I have no real “rules” or anything about how storytelling works. But I’m excited to try and put something together and present and see how it goes! My own blood-related high school student (it’s not his school) seems to think it’s cool, which is encouraging. (I guess this event isn’t open to the public or anything, but…. I’m really curious to see what kind of response the class gets and whether I’d want to do it again)
